Our front pendulum, pendulum shove, and now the “Varial” are a few movements we’ve been using to compliment the behind-the-body swings such as 360′s and 10-2.
Movements with the mace are simple, yet take significant coordination and strength to perform correctly; luckily they are just as much fun to practice as they are useful in physical development.

The mace is our favorite tool for hitting all those hard-to-reach corners that can be a challenge to develop strength in.
Used correctly, swinging/ lifting maces can build an aggressive “grab somebody” kind of strength like no other implement we’ve found.

One set consists of:
- 6 Mace 360s
- 5 Slam Balls
- 2 Turkish Getups (using prescribed swing weight)
NOTES:
- Count number of sets for duration of song.
- Mat used a 15kg mace, 25lb slamball, and 55lb kettlebell.

On June 26, 2010, four members of Wolf Brigade Gym competed in the first Rochester Crossfit Games out in Fairport, NY. The group included Mat Potocki, Kaela Pitts, Rodney Hohenstein, and Mary Kate Gaetani. Here is some footage of the group in action.
Wolf Brigade Gym’s goals and training are largely based on things other than sport, but transfer well to a sport application.
